With the sudden surge of cases in Victoria, and clusters in NSW we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Australian Dance Festival.  We understand that most states in Australia are restricting their borders, and some are enforcing a 14 day quarantine for interstate travellers.  As such, we simply cannot ask families to run the risk of coming into Sydney for the ADF in September.  Additionally, the NSW government has limited gatherings to a maximum of 300 people (rather than as many people the venue can accommodate with the 4 sqm rule).  We are uncertain as to whether this restriction will be lifted by the time the ADF rolls around.

We are grateful to you for all the faith you had in the event going ahead and for purchasing your accommodation. As per our updated COVID-19 terms and conditions we are pleased to offer anyone who purchased accommodation with us the following options:

  1. Rollover your accommodation to the 2021 ADF, which will be held from Friday 24th – Sunday 26th September 2021.

  2. Obtain a full refund for your accommodation

The Australian Dance Festival has a long standing relationship with the hotels at Sydney Olympic Park.  As such, we try to get the best rates possible, as early as possible for ADF attendees.  Please note that hotel accommodation within a walking distance to the Australian Dance Festival always sells out quickly.  We recommend that you reserve your rooms as soon as possible.  

Our accommodation options have been set up as a minimum 3 nights stay for Friday, Saturday & Sunday.  You can contact us to book Thursday night if you wish.

Terms & Conditions

You MUST book for Friday, Saturday & Sunday of the Australian Dance Festival.

*No cancellations and/or refunds will be accepted from 1st August 2020

*Any changes such as: cancellations, change of name, change in type of pass, change of  room mate, switching rooms, changing dates of accommodation, etc will be subject to an administration charge of AUDS$25 

*No changes will be accepted from 1st August 2020

COVID-19 Refund Policy

The normal refund policies* will apply UNLESS:

1. The government ban on mass gatherings of 500+ is still in place as at 31st August 2020.

Should this situation arise, we will look at cancelling the dates in September and re-scheduling the event as we will not put people at risk.

We have consulted with the Accor Hotels (Pullman, Novotel & Ibis) as well as the Quest Apartments and we are thankful that they have been flexible in this situation. Our venues have also given us up to 10 days before the event to cancel with only an administrative fee. We are extremely grateful to all our partners and suppliers for being so flexible as it allows us to also extend the same flexibility to our valued dance families.

What this will mean for you in the case that the ADF is postponed:

  • You can either roll forward your ticket and your accommodation payments to the new scheduled dates of the ADF or

  • If you are unable to attend the new scheduled dates, we will provide you with a refund for your ADF tickets and accommodation LESS a $25 administration fee

  • If you have already purchased your flights, please call your travel agent / airline to discuss how flexible their policies are and whether they will provide you with a credit or refund

  • If you haven’t purchased your flights, we recommend that you purchase a flight with the flexibility to change your dates.

  • Please remember that travel agents and airlines have also been badly affected by COVID-19 and be calm and compassionate with staff who are trying to help you. 

2. You have been directly impacted by COVID-19 and are unable to come due to illness, quarantine or loss of income (please communicate with us ASAP if this is the case). 
In this scenario, we will be assuming that the ADF will run as usual in September.

We will assess each request for a refund on a case by case scenario.

We do not wish for the ADF to be a source of more heartache and pain for families affected by COVID-19 and will use compassion common sense and to guide our decisions. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require any assistance or clarification about refunds. Our preferred mode of contact is via email to our Operations Manager:
