The Australian Dance Festival is a celebration of Australia's Best in Dance!  As a part of these celebrations, we want to showcase Australia's Best Dance Crews on Friday 24th September & Sunday 26th September (and NO! It's not just hip hop we're looking for!).

We know that dance is subjective, and it can be controversial to say that one dance crew is better than another, so we are introducing a unique competition, where dance teams won't be competing to come 1st, 2nd or 3rd.  Instead, we will be looking to award:

  • The Most Entertaining Dance Crew (Prize = $2,000 + Trophy)

  • The Best Choreographed Dance Crew (Prize = $2,000 + Trophy)

  • The Dance Crew displaying the best technical ability (Prize = $2,000 + Trophy)

  • The Best costume (Prize = $500 + Trophy)

  • Each dance crew must have a minimum of 12 members and a maximum of 40

  • Crew members can be of any age but not include any professional dancers

  • Each dance routine must be less than 4 minutes and 30 seconds in length

A crew member may not compete in more than one (1) crew for the ABDC competition.

  • A school registration fee of $205 is required by the school (not the students) to secure your place in the ABDC Competition.

  • Your School registration also includes the full set of High Resolution photos and video of your performance on a USB (normally valued at $370.00)

  • The $205 registration fee is non-refundable. Our bank account details for the deposit are:
    The Australian Dance Festival
    BSB: 062 246
    Account number: 1029 9452
    Ref no: Your name

  • Entry fee for each crew member is $250.  This includes:

    • A full pass to the Australian Dance Festival

    • The full pass includes entry to the workshops on Friday 24th, Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th of September, as well as entry to the shows on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

  • Your performance will also be uploaded on to YouTube and we will send you a high resolution digital video recording of your performance which you can use for your own promotional purposes.

We believe that every Australian dancer should strive to constantly improve and learn, and we want all the competitors in "Australia's Best Dance Crew" to embrace this philosophy which is why we want to encourage all competitors to take part in the amazing workshops over the Festival weekend..

Winners of the 2021 ABDC automatically qualify to compete in the finals on Sunday 26th Sept.

Audience members will be guaranteed to see the very best dancers in Australia all performing on an amazing stage with first-class lighting and sound, provided by our sponsors, Innovative Production Services!
